Les Vampires

After a long winter nap The Speakeasy Society is back!

Part 2 of Les Vampires coming soon…

Website and such.

So the website isn’t quite done but you can check out it’s progress by looking…

here: The Speakeasy Website!

Anything to add? Suggestions? I’ll be upgrading it soon so… let me know!

Also, I’m not going to Nosferatu for Halloween. I know. I should. But I’ve watched it so many times both on the large and small screen. Those of you who have never had the chance to see it with a live band should go!

I’ve had a few people ask what The Speakeasy Society is so…

The society is an informal group of people who like all things 1920s! Fashion, art deco, films, music, books, etc. There is no fee to be a member! Just follow here or email to be added to the mailing list. You’ll receive updates on future events and gatherings.

And remember! This is the Speakeasy Society blog. If you have anything about the 1920s (especially Maine in the 20s) feel free to submit it!

The Green Hand Bookshop & The Speakeasy Society present… An evening of silent films!

Silent films

Tell your friends! The Speakeasy Society will be holding it’s first real live honest to goodness meeting on September 23rd in the year 2010! We’ll be showing the first episode of Les Vampires as well as that cult classic The Mystery of the Leaping Fish staring Douglas Fairbanks!

Meet us at the Green Hand Bookshop 661 Congress St Portland, Maine. Doors open at 6:30pm & the show starts at 7pm. (No $ required but donations would be nifty.)

Hot dawg! It’s gonna be swell. So grab your favorite flapper or sheik and mark your calendar!

It’s gonna be the bee’s knees!

(Okay, enough with the 20s slang!)
